BOCA RATON, Fla. – The No. 25 Florida Atlantic softball team (30-8, 10-2 AAC) took the series from the ECU Pirates on Saturday afternoon with a 6-5 comeback victory.
With the win, the Owls improve their record to 30-8 and 10-2 in the American Athletic Conference. Florida Atlantic walked-off for the second time this season against a conference opponent. After this series, the Owls remain tied for first with North Texas in the standings.
THE GAME
The Pirates got off to a hot start as they led the Owls 5-0 until the bottom of the second when Jesiana Mora hit an RBI triple. Catcher Katelynn de Leon hit a sacrifice fly that brought in another run for Florida Atlantic to cut the lead. With another hit by Mora, the Owls were able to bring in another run in the bottom of the third. She was able to score on a wild pitch to brig Florida Atlantic down by only one run.
Shortstop Kiley Channell hit a sacrifice fly that brought in Cammeo Presutti to tie the game in the bottom of the seventh. For the second time this week, these two teams went into extra innings. Graduate student Becca Jones pinch hit for Presutti and hit a single up the middle to end the game in the eighth.
Trinity Schlotterbeck started in the circle for Florida Atlantic. In the second inning, Jaden Martinez went in relief of Schlotterbeck. Martinez threw a season-high six innings with three strikeouts. Ainsley Lambert went in to pitch in the eighth inning and registered her sixth win of the season.
STATS & NOTES
- Mora is now 14-for-14 in stolen bases
- Mora went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. She has 13 multi-hit games on the season
- Graduate Student Presley Leebrick went 3-for-4 on the day
- The Owls continue to lead the conference in on-base percentage (.423)
- Lambert improves her record to 6-2
- In conference play, Channell leads the Owls with a .462 batting average
- Schlotterbeck and Mora are tied with 34 RBI each

The Owls will hit the road and face Charlotte on Friday, April 5. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. and will air on ESPN+.
