FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Emily Culmone has joined the Nova Southeastern University Rowing program as an assistant coach, announces Head Coach Kim Chavers.
“I am thrilled to have Emily joining our coaching staff,” said Chavers. “Her experience and commitment to the sport of rowing, makes me confident that Emily will play a pivotal role in shaping our student-athletes on and off the water. We are excited to welcome her to NSU Rowing and the Shark Family!”
Prior to Nova Southeastern, Culmone served as captain of the Stockton University Rowing team for three years and raced as the bow seat on the Varsity-8 boat that recorded a pair of top three finishes at Dad Vails. Culmone led Stockton to a third-place finish at the Mid-Atlantic Rowing Championships in 2021 and was named a First-Team All-Conference rower in 2022. Culmone capped her collegiate rowing career with a victory as the head of the Schuylkill Regatta.
Following her collegiate career, Culmone began coaching with the Stockton Youth Rowing program, while also assisting her high school. Culmone continues to row and has been a member of the Upper Township Beach Patrol for the last eight years. She has competed in the doubles row, singles row, swim and surf dash; winning the South Jersey Championship win on the surf dash team.
