JAGUARS SAFETY JOSH JONES DESIGNATED FOR RETURN
JACKSONVILLE – S Josh Jones has been designated for return from the team’s injured reserve list, the club announced. Jacksonville has 21 days to activate him to the 53-man active roster. Jones was originally placed on injured reserve on Nov. 14 with a chest injury.
In 2020, NFL clubs are permitted to return an unlimited number of players from either the club’s Reserve/Injured List or from its Reserve/Non-Football Injury/Illness List to the club’s 53-player Active/Inactive List. Such players must have suffered a football-related injury after reporting to training camp and passing the club’s physical and must have been placed on the reserve list following 4 p.m. ET on Saturday, Sept. 5. To be eligible for return, a player cannot begin to practice until three weeks have elapsed since the date he was placed on a reserve list, and the player cannot return to the Active/Inactive List until three games have elapsed since the date he was placed on Reserve/Injured.

Miami Dolphins promote Jones
MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins announced they have promoted defensive tackle Benito Jones to the active roster.
Jones has played in four games for the Dolphins in 2020, recording two tackles (one solo). He’s spent the rest of the season on Miami’s practice squad. He originally entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with the Dolphins on April 29, 2020. Jones was a four-year letterman (2016-19) and three-year starter at Mississippi. He earned second-team All-SEC honors as a senior in 2019.

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins announced they have placed running back Matt Breida on the reserve/COVID-19* list.
Breida has played in nine games with one start for the Dolphins this season. He has 47 carries for 168 yards (3.6 avg.) and nine receptions for 96 yards (10.7 avg.). The Dolphins previously acquired Breida in a trade with San Francisco on April 25, 2020. He also played three years (2017-19) with the 49ers. Breida originally entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with San Francisco on May 4, 2017.
*This new reserve list category was created for a player who either tests positive for COVID-19 or who has been quarantined after having been in close contact with an infected person or persons. If a player falls into either of these categories, their club is required to immediately place the player on the reserve/COVID-19 list. Per agreed upon NFL-NFLPA policy, clubs are not permitted to comment on a player’s medical status other than referring to roster status. Clubs may not disclose whether a player is in quarantine or is positive for COVID-19.
MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins announced they have activated running back Myles Gaskin off injured reserve. The team also elevated safety Nate Holley as a COVID-19 replacement for Sunday’s game.
Gaskin has played in seven games with five starts for the Dolphins this season. He has 100 carries for 387 yards (3.9 avg.) and two touchdowns. Gaskin also has 30 receptions for 198 yards (6.6 avg.). A second-year pro, Gaskin originally entered the NFL as a seventh-round pick (234th overall) by Miami in the 2019 NFL draft. He finished his collegiate career as Washington’s all-time leading rusher with 5,323 yards.
Holley was signed by the Dolphins on Aug. 22, 2020. He spent the 2019 season with the Calgary Stampeders in the Canadian Football League and was named the CFL’s Most Outstanding Rookie. Holley also spent time in The Spring League (2018) and the Indoor Football League (2018) after he was in training camp with the Los Angeles Rams in 2018. Holley was a four-year letterman (2013-16) and three-year starter at Kent State.
