Record Number 240 FAU Student-Athletes Named to C-USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic University has placed 240 student-athletes on the Conference USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll for the 2018-19 academic year as announced by the league on Thursday.

The 240 student-athletes is the highest total for FAU since joining C-USA in 2013 and marks the fifth consecutive year the Owls have had 200-plus make the cut. FAU has the third highest number of any C-USA school this year.

“We are so proud of the academic success of our student-athletes,” said vice president and director of athletics, Brian White. “Our student-athletes have learned to take advantage of their educational opportunities while also competing at the highest level. Their academic accolades are indicative of their dedication to all aspects of being a student-athlete. These accomplishments are also a testament to the hard work and dedication of our senior associate athletic director for academics and student-athlete development, Eric Coleman, and his staff. They have created a culture of academic excellence at FAU that is central to all that we do in our athletic department.”

Student-athletes named to the Commissioner’s Honor Roll have maintained a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better. Those that maintain a 3.75 GPA or higher receive the Commissioner’s Academic Medal which will be announced at a later date.

Football had the highest number of student-athletes on the list with 29 members. Women’s golf had all eligible members of the team earn the honor. Men’s cross country, softball and women’s swimming and diving had over 85% of their teams make the cut.
