Pompano Beach offers gift cards to those who have received COVID vaccinations

Because of the popularity of the vaccine incentive program, the City of Pompano Beach is extending the distribution of $200 Visa gift cards for one month.

Residents can pick up a gift card and head to McDonald’s for free fries City of Pompano Beach residents who became fully vaccinated with the COVID-19 vaccine after June 22, 2021 are eligible for the incentives. If you received your first Pfizer or Moderna COVID-19 shot before June 22nd and received or will receive your second Pfizer or Moderna shot after June 22nd, you are still eligible to receive the $200 gift card. One dose Johnson and Johnson COVID-19 shots must be received after June 22nd in order to qualify.

The program is utilizing American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds as an incentive to get as many Pompano Beach residents fully vaccinated as possible. The distribution of Visa gift cards will be on a first come, first served basis and will be available while supplies last or until the program ends on October 31st. Upchurch Management, a multigenerational franchise of McDonald’s Corporation, who operate and manage 40 McDonald’s restaurants in Florida (six in Pompano Beach) is partnering with the City of Pompano Beach in an effort to support and give back to the community. Upchurch Management is offering vouchers for free fries after you receive your second vaccine and qualify for the $200 Visa gift card. 5,000 vouchers for the McDonalds free fries will be distributed with the $200 Visa gift card for new applicants received after September 30th while supplies last.

McDonald’s vouchers will not be distributed to those who have already received their $200 Visa gift card. Residents must complete and submit an application to the City’s Office of Housing and Urban Improvement attesting to having received all of the required doses of the Covid-19 vaccine after June 22, 2021. Proof of residency is required by uploading a copy of your Driver’s License or any other legal form of Photo ID showing City Address. A copy of the COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) is also required. The City’s Fire Department will be verifying proof of vaccination through the Florida Shots Database as maintained by the CDC.
