The City of Pompano Beach hosted an event known as Human Nature at Community Park. The event was a chance for people with a variety of interests to get together, exercise discuss the caring for environment, have a smoothy and just have a good time.
Rehnan Overmiller put on a fairly strenuous workout program but it was all in good fun and people could chose to exercise at their own pace “We have all terrain and all weather fitness. We have fitness for everyone,” he said.
There were program to educate people on the importance of preserving the environment and planting more trees in Pompano Beach. Cindy Davidson of the Youth Environmental Alliance was showing people how to care for the environment. She was giving away tree seedlings. She was encouraging people to avoid using single use plastics and to look for more ways to recycle items.
Kaitlyn Kerr of the Pompano Beach Parks and Recreation Department was pleased to see people coming together to have some fun. “We have people who want to work on planting trees and we have people who want to exercise and improve their physical fitness,” she said.
