Pompano Beach leaders recently came together for the ribbon cutting ceremony at the brand-new Ocean Rescue Headquarters on the beach. Essential for safeguarding lives and promoting safe enjoyment of our beaches, this new modernized facility was a collaboration between the design team’s expertise and the valuable input of the city’s dedicated Ocean Rescue staff. Their involvement in the project ensured that the new floor plan met their operational needs, making their work more efficient and effective.
This G.O. Bond funded project was part of a multiphase initiative, beginning with the designing, assembling, and installing of eight lifeguard stations. The second and third phases were to complete the design and construction of the Ocean Rescue building itself. The 2,815 square foot ground floor of the original building was gutted to allow for a better floor plan design to make daily operations more efficient and effective. The second floor features a large meeting room with floor to ceiling windows facing the ocean, offering an incredible view.
In 2018, voters overwhelmingly approved the “G.O. Pompano!” bond initiative to secure $181 million in funding for various community projects.
