PAUL POSLUSZNY NAMED NO. 11 ON JAGUARS ALL-25 PRESENTED BY SHARPIE

July 22, 2019

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Former LB Paul Posluszny has been named No. 11 on the Jaguars All-25, the club announced today. Jaguars
All-25 presented by Sharpie is a collection of the top 25 non-active
players in franchise history, as voted on by members of the local
media. The Jaguars’ silver celebration kicked off in mid-March
with the start of the new league year and the unveiling of the
team’s 25th season commemorative logo designed to embody the
spirit of DUUUVAL.

“I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for including me in the Jaguars All-25,” said Posluszny. “I think of all the great
Jaguars that have played for the organization and to be included
in that group is something very special. I loved every minute of
my time with the Jaguars. I miss it and I think about it all the
time because you were surrounded by great people, great
teammates and coaches and most importantly, outstanding
fans – the best fans in the NFL. Thank you for making it such
a special experience, something that I will remember forever.”
Posluszny appeared in 145 career regular season games for
the Jaguars and the Buffalo Bills, totaling 1,381 tackles (984 solo),
41 passes defensed, 16.0 sacks, 15 INTs, eight forced fumbles and
three fumble recoveries. Since entering the NFL as a second-round
pick (34th overall) with the Bills in 2007, Posluszny is one of two
players (Karlos Dansby) to record at least 15.0 sacks and 15 INTs,
and his 1,381 tackles are the most in the NFL over that span.
Posluszny posted seven-plus tackles in 71.0 pct. (103 of 145) of
his career NFL appearances, and his 103 games with seven-plus
tackles are the most in the NFL since he entered the league in 2007.
Posluszny, who served as a team captain for five seasons in
Jacksonville, joined the Jaguars as an unrestricted free agent on
July 29, 2011 and appeared in 100 games for Jacksonville,
posting 984 tackles, ranking second in franchise history
(Daryl Smith – 1,089).
Posluszny totaled 11 INTs during his tenure with the Jaguars,
a team record for a linebacker. Posluszny made his first career
postseason appearance in 2017, helping to lead the Jaguars to
their first division title and first trip to the AFC Championship
since the 1999 season. Posluszny appeared in all three postseason
games for the Jaguars and made six tackles and one pass defensed. “Give me 53 Pozes and I’ll win you a championship,” said
Cole Pepper, a sports reporter with WJXT and a member of the
All-25 voting panel. “Nobody ever comported themselves better
as a Jaguar as a pro, prepared himself better, led better by
example than Paul Posluszny.” Currently, Posluszny attends
graduate school and lives in Jacksonville, Fla. with his wife,
Elizabeth, and their two daughters. For more information on
