- Mike Hoffman put Florida ahead 1-0 with his goal scored at 11:16 of the first period. The goal was his first goal of the postseason.
- Jonathan Huberdeau registered an assist on Hoffman’s first period goal giving him points in each of Florida’s first two Qualifier contests (1-1-2).
- Aleksander Barkov tallied his first goal of the postseason on the power play at 7:54 of the second period. Barkov’s tally marked his second consecutive game with a point (1-1-2) and was Florida’s first power-play goal of the postseason.
- Mike Hoffman (1-1-2) and Keith Yandle (0-2-2) each produced multi-point games.
- For the Islanders, Jordan Eberle scored twice (2-0-2) and Ryan Pulock notched two points (1-1-2). Both Eberle and Pulock tallied on the power play for the Islanders. Eberle led New York with five shots.
- Florida completed the game 5/7 on the penalty kill. Florida finished the first period 3/3 on the penalty kill, including them facing a double-minor penalty. The Panthers posted 26 PIM in the game.
- Aaron Ekblad totaled a team-leading 6:06 shorthanded time on ice in the game, including 3:03 in the first period. Ekblad led the Panthers with five shots and a total of 25:47 TOI.
- Goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky made 30 saves on 34 shots, allowing two goals at even-strength. He stopped all 13 shots faced in the first period.

- Brady Keeper made his NHL playoff debut in his second career NHL game. The Cross Lake, Manitoba native’s first NHL game was played on March 28, 2019 in Ottawa. In today’s game, Keeper logged two hits, two blocked shots and 13:13 TOI.
- The Islanders lead the best of-five series against the Panthers 2-0.
- Game 3 of Florida vs. New York will take place 24 hours from today’s game with a 12 p.m. match-up on Wednesday, Aug. 5. The last time the Panthers played postseason games in consecutive days was April 14-15, 2016 vs. NY Islanders.
