PANTHERS POSTGAME QUOTES
Forward Ryan Lomberg
Playing with Jonathan Huberdeau and Aleksander Barkov:
“It is obviously fun for sure. They are world class players. Anytime you can get on the ice with those guys, you try to make it count and that is what I did. Try to get the puck back to them and let them make the plays.”
On fan support at FLA Live Arena:
“It is great. We feed off the fans, especially like somebody like myself. I love all of them. We appreciate their support. It is part of the reason that we have such a good home record.
Forward Jonathan Huberdeau
On his latest milestones:
“It’s pretty cool, especially doing it against Montreal. I have a lot of family here, a lot of friends. It’s nice to get some milestones, but it was a big win for us, obviously we came back with 3 goals. We stuck with it and in the third period we came back hard.”
On Ryan Lomberg’s night:
“Lomby [Lomberg] was having a hell of night. It is good to see that. This guy works so hard and I think he brings energy on the bench. Him getting 3 goals would have been nicer… great night for him and it was awesome playing with him.”
On depth of team:
“We have so much depth. We know we have been scoring a lot of goals this year. It is obviously cool to set a franchise record. 16 games left and I think we just got to focus on that and be better defensively. We know we can score goals.”
Interim Head Coach Andrew Brunette
On finding success with switching up lines:
“We kind of know that when you make moves—and with the new players—it’s hard to develop chemistry and feel. And nights like tonight kind of give you the opportunity to move things around and see if there’s any lightning in a bottle, or if there’s any clicking chemistry-wise. It’s good to move them around and see what we have.”
On Sam Bennett’s game tonight:
“I loved his game. I loved his game in Toronto, too. He didn’t get rewarded for some of those [road] games, but tonight he did… He was on the puck all game. When he’s on the puck and he’s skating, he’s a very effective player.”
On high-flying Lomberg’s two goals and assist tonight:
“Yeah he deserved it. I’m kind of kicking myself, I’d like to have gotten him out there to get his third [goal]. But no, he was the heartbeat of the group tonight.”
“Yeah he’s got some skill. He’s good with the puck and he brings the intangibles that we need from him. And on night’s like tonight, he gave us the spark that we needed.”
