Florida handed Tampa Bay their first home loss of the season, the first time the Panthers have won at Amalie Arena since March 6, 2016, breaking an eight-game winless streak (0-5-3). Florida improved to 4-0-1 on the road and 4-0-0 after a loss.
Florida’s 4-0-1 (9 points) road record is the best through their first five away games to start a season in franchise history.
Aleksander Barkov produced two points (1-1-2). His assist on Anthony Duclair’s goal was his 420th NHL point, surpassing Olli Jokinen for sole possession of second in franchise history for points. Barkov’s goal was the game-winning tally.
Jonathan Huberdeau posted two points (1-1-2). His goal was his 153^rd NHL goal, surpassing Pavel Bure for sole possession of fourth in franchise history for goals.
Anthony Duclair, Owen Tippett, and Anton Stralman each scored their first goal of the season.
Frank Vatrano scored on a penalty shot, his first career penalty shot goal, extending his goal streak to three games (3-0-3).
Eetu Luostarinen registered an assist, extending his assist streak to three games (0-3-3).
Carter Verhaeghe notched two assists (0-2-2), his fourth multi-point game of the season.
Anton Stralman recorded his first multi-point game of the season (1-1-2).
11 Panthers registered a point. Florida’s six goals are the most they have scored in a game this season, and the Panthers’ 21 shots on goal were their fewest in a game.
Florida killed off all four Tampa Bay power-play opportunities.

I thought we did some good things today, lot of pucks went in the net but when we keep it simple and play hard, I thought we had a real good last 10 minutes of the game.
