Owls to Host Blazers in Big C-USA Matchup

BOCA RATON, Fla – The Florida Atlantic University men’s basketball team has another huge game on its schedule. Fresh off a comeback win over North Texas and riding a school-record 11-game winning streak, FAU (12-1, 2-0 C-USA) will welcome UAB (12-2, 3-0 C-USA) to town on Thursday, January 5. Tip time is at 7 p.m. in Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena.

The Owls are receiving votes in both the AP Top 25 and the USA Today Coaches Poll. The Blazers are receiving votes in the Coaches Poll. FAU enters Thursday night’s showdown with a No. 12 ranking in the NCAA Net Rankings.

OWLS GRIND OUT WIN AT MEAN GREENLast time out, FAU pulled out a gutty 50-46 win over North Texas, despite shooting only 13% from 3-point range, which is by far a season-low for the Owls. FAU closed the game on a 13-0 run to steal one in Denton. The late run was capped off by a clutch 3-pointer from Bryan Greenlee, and two Michael Forrest free throws sealed it. Vladislav Goldin posted his first career double-double with 11 points and a career-high 13 rebounds.

STREAKING OWLSFAU’s 11-game winning streak is tied for the second-longest in the nation with UNC Wilmington. The Owls additionally have an undefeated 8-0 mark at home, a nine-game home winning streak dating back to last year, and a 52-14 record in Paradise dating back to 2018-19, the start of the Dusty May era.
