The City of Oakland Park has once again been recognized for preparing high-quality budget documents, receiving the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for its fiscal year 2025 budget.
This marks the 21st consecutive year the City has earned this prestigious award. The GFOA’s Distinguished Budget Presentation Award is a notable achievement that highlights Oakland Park’s dedication to upholding the highest principles of governmental budgeting. The award is given to municipalities that meet rigorous national standards, ensuring that their budgets serve as effective policy documents, financial plan, operations guide, and communication tool. This recognition underscores the City Commission and staff’s commitment to maintaining transparency, sound financial practices, and continuous improvement in budgeting.
The Oakland Park Health & Wellness program had a fantastic new addition last Friday with the launch of the Mommy & Me —and what a great turnout! About 30 parents and little ones joined us at Wimberly Fields for a morning full of movement, laughter, and bonding. The class was led by our amazing new partner, SoFlow CrossFit, a local Oakland Park business known for helping people grow stronger, healthier, and more confident. Their energy and expertise made the session both fun and impactful, and we’re thrilled to have them on board for future Mommy & Me classes. This partnership not only adds value to the Health & Wellness offerings but also strengthens our commitment to supporting healthy families and a vibrant community.
