Oakland Park celebrates being a part of Wildlife Federation
From David Volz
Oakland Park is home to nearly 200 National Wildlife Federation-certified habitats. City leaders are thrilled to celebrate the city’s 27th year of certification as a National Wildlife Federation Community.
This year, eight new properties joined the city’s growing list of certified wildlife habitats, including five homes, City Park, the North Andrews Gardens Community Center, and the Stunson Nature Trail. These additions highlight the community’s commitment to creating welcoming havens for wildlife in the city’s backyard. Oakland Park leaders are dedicated to sustainability and environmental stewardship.
Oakland Park is partnering with Oakland Park Kiwanis to host the event on Saturday, January 11th, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Jaco Pastorius Park at 4000 North Dixie Highway. Vendor spaces are still available.
At the Ethel M. Gordon Oakland Park Library, one can sign up for Improv on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month from 6-7 p.m. Residents 15 and older are invited, no experience necessary. The Ethel M. Gordon Oakland Park Library is located at 1298 NE 37th Street.
