HOW IT HAPPENED

First Half – NSU came out hot, thanks to two quick three-pointers by Conley. The Falcons answered with a layup, but NSU was just getting started. Conley hit her third three-pointer of the game to start a 10-0 run for the Sharks. Following her three-pointer, Madison Frederick came down and hit a three-pointer of her own. Kyarrah Grant joined in on the hot shooting by the Sharks, hitting a three to bring NSU’s lead to 15-6. Grant wasn’t done yet, scoring back-to-back layups to increase the Shark lead even more. After St. Augustine scored a layup to stop the run, Frederick came down and hit her second three of the game. Mackenzie Steele knocked down a three following a strong defensive effort from the Sharks and A’lexus Bryant closed out the 1st quarter with a layup, giving NSU a 27-8 lead heading into the second quarter. In the second quarter, the Sharks picked up where they left off. Skyla Osceola started the quarter with back-to-back three-pointers. Zeyno Seren, and Conley followed that up with their own three-pointers to add to the Sharks lead. Defensively the Sharks continued to give the Falcons trouble, helping them end the first half with a 23-point lead.

Second Half – Bryant started the second half with a strong defensive effort, giving the Falcons offense trouble at the rim. Kyannah Grant and Sarei McGill were everywhere on the court, securing rebounds and getting to the free-throw line. As the third quarter progressed, the Sharks kept the momentum going, ending the third quarter with a 64-46 lead. In the fourth quarter, NSU kept its foot on the gas pedal. Mia Jones and Delaney Wolfe contributed a handful of points in the quarter, ultimately sealing the victory for the Sharks.
