FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The No. 5 Nova Southeastern women’s tennis team (5-0, 2-0 SSC) secured its third sweep of the 2020 season on Wednesday afternoon at the NSU Tennis Center at Rolling Hills, earning a 7-0 Sunshine State Conference victory over Palm Beach Atlantic (2-2, 0-1 SSC), despite competing a pair of players short.
DOUBLES
- NSU wrapped up the doubles point in just over 40 minutes thanks to perfect 6-0, 6-0 finishes in the third and second flights – Karolina Snita and Diane Follin–Arbelet, as well as Daniela Obando and Tingting Pei sweeping past Elvira Edstrom/Verena Weindl and Annabelle Robichaud/Estefani Fernandez, respectively.
SINGLES
- In spite of a doubles loss, Sarah Wardenburg made quick work of Edstrom in No. 3 singles, earning the quick 6-0, 6-0 victory.
- Celia Montero Estevan wasn’t far behind in the fourth flight, topping Weindl by a 6-2, 6-1 margin.
- Over on five, Follin-Arbelet put Robichaud away with a 6-0, 6-1 victory to secure the match for the Sharks.
- On six, Isabella Lowrey earned her first singles victory of the year, topping Fernandez, 6-3, 6-0.
- The top two flights were the final matches in play, with the Sharks earning 6-2, 6-3 Snita and 6-2, 6-4 Obando wins over Shelby Groeneveld and Yuliia Russo, respectively to close out the 7-0 team finish.

UP NEXT
The Sharks head out on the road for the first time in SSC play this weekend, opening up in St. Petersburg at Eckerd on Friday, followed up in Lakeland on Saturday at No. 18 Florida Southern and closing out the weekend at the USTA Campus in Orlando against Davenport on Sunday.
