SAN ANTONIO, Texas – After the Florida Atlantic men’s basketball team received its first ever top 25 ranking in school history – No. 24 in the AP poll to be exact – the Owls did not miss a beat. On Monday night, Florida Atlantic defeated Western Kentucky on the road, 76-62, to start a three-game road trip. The victory stretched the Owls’ winning streak to 16 games, which is the second-longest one in the nation this season.
Florida Atlantic will look to keep the momentum going with another road C-USA game, this time at UTSA on Jan. 19. Tip time is set for 8 p.m. eastern / 7 p.m. central.

- The Owls are one of only four one-loss teams in the nation (Charleston, Houston & Purdue)
- FAU is also tied with Purdue for third in winning percentage among the 358 teams across NCAA Division I
- Against WKU, the Owls pulled away with a big 42-29 edge in the second half. The win was the Owls’ first in Bowling Green since 2012-13 and the biggest margin of victory in all-time against the Hilltoppers
- Speaking of margin of victory, the Owls rank ninth in the nation in that category with an average of +14.1 points per game
- FAU is 8-6 against the Roadrunners, with the two squads splitting last year’s matchup
- Johnell Davis has been the go-to-guy for FAU in conference play, averaging a team-high 16.4 points per game in C-USA action
- Alijah Martin is ranked second on the team in scoring in conference play with a mark of 12.3 points per game
- Vladislav Goldin is averaging 9.9 points and 7.1 boards per game in C-USA action
