BOCA RATON, Fla. – The No. 15-ranked Florida Atlantic beach volleyball team (7-5) returns to the Sunshine State this weekend as they compete at FIU’s Surf N’ Turf on March 17 & 18.
The Owls will face a strong field this weekend, competing against No. 1 TCU, No. 2 USC, FGCU, and host No. 14 FIU.
The Owls will open the weekend with a rematch against FGCU at 1:30 p.m. FAU earned a 4-1 victory against the Eagles in the Owls’ season-opener and are 11-3 all-time against FGCU. Florida Atlantic will then close out the opening day with a 4:30 p.m. first serve against the No. 2-ranked USC Trojans. FAU is 0-4 all-time against the Trojans, including a 3-0 loss against USC last season during the NCAA South Regionals.
FAU will then return to action on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. against No. 1 TCU. The Owls hold a 4-3 all-time lead against the NCAA-leading Horned Frogs, however, TCU has won the last two meetings against the Owls, including a 4-1 win last season on Feb. 26, 2022. FAU will then wrap up the weekend with a 2:30 p.m. first serve against No. 14 FIU. The Owls trail the all-time series against the Panthers, 4-17, including a closely contested 3-2 battle in the last meeting between the two programs last year on April 30, 2022.
UP NEXT
Following the FIU Surf N’ Turf, the Owls will return to DeLand to compete in Stetson’s second tournament of the season on March 24-25.
