BOCA RATON, Fla. – No. 15 Florida Atlantic beach volleyball is prepped and ready to open up postseason play this week as the Sandy Owls compete in the Conference USA Championship on April 27-29 at the Fort Lauderdale Beach Park in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
The Sandy Owls enter the postseason as the No. 2 seed in the C-USA tournament. As the two-seed, the Sandy Owls earn a first round before opening up play against the winner of match two between No. 3 Tulane and No. 6 Jacksonville State on Thursday, April 27 at 1:30 p.m.
No. 3 Tulane boasts a league-best 22-8 overall record and a 1-1 mark in C-USA play, splitting a pair of matches against the UAB Blazers, 3-2 and 2-3, and have won seven straight contests entering the C-USA Tournament. The Sandy Owls hold a dominant 8-1 all-time record against the Green Wave. Florida Atlantic has won the last three meetings between the Sandy Owls and the Green Wave, including a 5-0 victory last season on April 15.
No. 6 Jacksonville State has a 0-18-3 record this season, tying against State College of Florida and earning a pair of ties against St. Johns River State College, and have dropped 12 straight contests entering postseason play. The Sandy Owls are unbeaten all-time against Jacksonville State, going a perfect 4-0 vs. the Gamecocks.
