INDIANAPOLIS – Cleveland State’s Mariah White is the Nike® #HLWBB Player of the Week as the junior averaged 17.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 4.5 steals in the Vikings’ pair of road wins. Detroit Mercy’s Sylare Starks posted 12.5 points per game last week for the Titans to earn her first Nike® Freshman of the Week honor.

White averaged 17.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 4.5 steals in two games last week. She posted a team-high 15 points along with seven rebounds, seven assists and five steals in the win at Hofstra and followed that up with 19 points, five rebounds and four steals playing all 40 minutes in the win at St. Bonaventure. For the season, she averaging 16.2 points, 4.4 assists and 4.4 steals per game, and has helped Cleveland State to four straight wins as the Vikings stand at 4-1 this year. The junior leads the league with 22 total steals, while she ranks fourth nationally in the category.

Starks averaged 12.5 points per game last week, including shooting 50-percent from beyond the arc (4-of-8) and 87.5-percent (7-of-8) from the free throw line. She scored 11 points in a career-high 36 minutes on the road at Western Michigan on Wednesday, adding four rebounds and two assists. Starks then scored a career-best and team-high 14 points in Detroit Mercy’s Saturday defeat to Akron, sinking 4-of-10 shots, including 2-of-4 from 3-point range. She has scored in double figures in four-straight contests overall and leads the team in scoring, minutes played, 3-pointers made and free-throw percentage.
