INDIANAPOLIS – IUPUI’s Macee Williams is the Nike® #HLWBB Player of the Week as the junior posted 22 points and 15 rebounds in a win over Eastern Kentucky. Detroit Mercy’s Markyia McCormick earned her first Nike® Freshman of the Week honor, scoring 19 points and adding four rebounds against Eastern Michigan on Saturday.

Macee Williams was stellar for the Jags in IUPUI’s 72-42 win over Eastern Kentucky to close out non-conference play. Williams posted her sixth double-double of the season with a season-high 22 points and tied her season-high with 15 rebounds. Williams was an efficient 9-for-13 from the field, went 3-for-3 from the free throw line and hit her first three-point shot of the season. The junior dominated on the glass, pulling down eight offensive rebounds and contributed four assists and two steals. After non-conference play, Williams now leads the Horizon League with 9.5 rebounds per game and is sixth in scoring at 14.6 per contest.

Markyia McCormick scored a career-high 19 points in the Titans’ lone game this week, an 84-70 setback to Eastern Michigan on Saturday. The freshman guard scored 15 of her 19 points in the second half alone, including 12-straight points for the Titans in the third quarter. McCormick shot 6-of-14 from the floor and added 6-of-8 makes from the free throw line, adding four rebounds and one steal. It was McCormick’s third game in double figures in her past four outings, all off the bench.
