INDIANAPOLIS – Northern Kentucky’s Tyler Sharpe scored 30 points and hit five triples to help the Norse to their third-straight win to be named Nike® #HLMBB Player of the Week, while Green Bay’s Amari Davis makes it three Nike® #HLMBB Freshman of the Week awards in a row after averaging 21 points for the Phoenix last week as the Horizon League announced its men’s basketball weekly honors on Monday.

Tyler Sharpe | Northern Kentucky | Senior | Guard | Mt. Washington, Ky.
Sharpe led Northern Kentucky to its third-straight win with a career-high 30 points against the Missouri Valley Conference’s Illinois State. The senior guard shot a highly efficient 10-of-17 (59 percent) from the floor and 5-for-8 (63 percent) from three-point range. Sharpe also added four assists, two rebounds and game-high-tying three steals. He now leads the Horizon League in steals with 23 on the season. Entering Sunday’s competition, his then 20 steals ranked 72nd in the nation. The 30-point effort is NKU’s fourth of the season, all of which have come in the last five games against DI competition. Sharpe’s previous career high was 28 points at Morehead State on Nov. 28 last season.
#HLMBB Freshman of the Week
Amari Davis | Green Bay | Freshman | Guard | Trotwood, Ohio
Davis continued his torrid pace to start a collegiate career, scoring 25 points at UCF before dumping another 17 points at home against Evansville. Davis led the Phoenix in scoring in both games, and went a sizzling 18-for-29 (62 percent) from the field in the two contests. He went 12-for-14 in a competitive loss at UCF alone, starting the game 7-for-7. The left-handed guard grabbed six rebounds against Evansville, averaging 5.0 for the week. In the two games against quality opponents, Davis averaged 21.0 PPG and has now scored in double-figures in 10 out of 11 games this year. He continues to lead the Phoenix in scoring with 16.4 PPG, ranking in the top 10 nationally among freshmen and standing 4th in points per game in the Horizon League.
