No. 42 J.F. Electric / Utilitra Chevrolet Silverado RST
Driver: Matt Mills | Crew Chief: Mike Shiplett
– Mills’ Nashville Stats: Matt Mills made his first NCTS start at Nashville last year, where he drove his No. 42 Chevy to an eighth-place finish. Mills also competed in one NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) event at this track in 2021.

– Shiplett’s Nashville Stats: Mike Shiplett’s lone NCTS race held at Nashville resulted in a disappointing 36th-place finish last year after Bret Holmes crashed out of the event early. Shiplett served as crew chief for two NXS races here back in 2007, finishing as high as 22nd with Chase Miller.

– On the Truck: Mills’ No. 42 Chevrolet Silverado RST will race with support from longtime partners J.F. Electric and Utilitra, who will serve as his anchor partners for the entire 25-race season.

– Recapping Charlotte: Matt Mills and the No. 42 team overcame mid-race adversity to capture their first top-10 finish of the season at Charlotte. Starting 16th, Mills earned an extra point in stage one by finishing in 10th. On the first pit stop of the night, however, the team was dealt a costly uncontrolled tire penalty which resulted in a significant loss of track position. Mills and team rallied back valiantly, resulting in an impressive comeback seventh-place result.
– Points Rundown: Mills gained two positions in the points standings after picking up his best finish of the year in Charlotte. Heading into Nashville for the tour’s 12th race on the calendar, Mills is shown in 16th-place. The driver is 22 points behind Matt Crafton in 15th, and has a one-point cushion over Jack Wood in 17th. As of now, Mills is 75 points outside of the Playoffs cutline.

– Quoting Mills: You got a top-10 last week and got another one here last year; what do you have to do to keep the momentum rolling?

“Nashville was a really good racetrack for us so I really just trust what we had here last year. I know Mike (Shiplett) will make good adjustments going into the weekend. Another top-10 finish would be good for us; I think looking at the way we showed speed last week we need to strive for even more. I think Nashville will be good for us on the J.F. Electric team.”About J.F. Electric: J.F. Driver: Bayley Currey | Crew Chief: Wally Rogers
– Currey’s Nashville Stats: Bayley Currey has driven in two NCTS races held at Nashville Superspedway. Currey’s best finish at the track (fifth) came in 2023, and he finished 29th last year with mechanical issues. He also raced in two NXS races in 2021 and 2022.

– Rogers’ Nashville Stats: Wally Rogers has called four NCTS races at Nashville, earning one top-10 finish with Matt Crafton, who finished seventh in 2004. In 11 NXS races, Rogers’ drivers picked up two top-fives and four top-10s (best of fourth, twice). He also nabbed a pole here in 2003 with Randy LaJoie.

– On the Truck: Currey’s No. 44 Chevrolet Silverado RST will race with support from AutoVentive and Precision Vehicle Logistics.

– Recapping Charlotte: Ross Chastain and the No. 44 team ran at the front of the pack at Charlotte, showcasing a large amount of pace throughout the 134-lap  event. Chastain was the truck to beat in practice, and rolled off the starting grid from fourth-place. With two strong opening stages, the team amassed 15 stage points by finishing second and fifth, respectively. The team put up a great fight for the race win, but ultimately came up one spot shy of the victory.

– Owner Points Rundown: The No. 44 team picked up two spots in the owner points standings with Chastain’s second-place finish at Charlotte. Moving up to 16th, the team is seven points behind Spire Motorsports’ No. 71 Chevrolet in 15th and currently have a 14-point cushion over TRICON Garage’s No. 15 entry in 17th.

– Quoting Currey: What are some characteristics from this track that are different from other intermediates?

“The fact that it’s a little bit smaller, got to use a little bit of brake. That’s really it. I mean it’s concrete, they have the traction resin down and we’ll have to see how that comes into play. It seems like it’s different every year even though it’s the same stuff. I know two years ago we were all the way up in the third lane, last year we were locked down on the bottom, hopefully we can see more moving around this year. We’ve had a lot of speed there in the past so hopefully we can carry that into this weekend.”About AutoVentive: AutoVentive is an industry-leading Software as a Service (SaaS) applications developer providing customized solutions to the automotive logistics industry. Driver: Kaden Honeycutt | Crew Chief: Phil Gould
– Honeycutt’s Nashville Stats: Kaden Honeycutt has made two NCTS starts at Nashville. In 2022, Honeycutt picked up his best finish at the track in 21st, and though he was running quick last year, mechanical woes slowed him to a 33rd-place finish.

– Gould’s Nashville Stats: Phil Gould has called four NCTS races at Nashville since the series’ return in 2021. Gould is a past winner at this track, having won in 2023 with Carson Hocevar. In total, his drivers have scored two top-fives.

– On the Truck:  Honeycutt’s No. 45 Chevrolet Silverado RST will race with support from DQS Solutions & Staffing and Masked Owl Technologies, who will serve as his anchor partners for the majority of the season.

– Recapping Charlotte: Kaden Honeycutt and the No. 45 team contended for the victory and secured a well-deserved top-five finish at Charlotte. Honeycutt started from fifth, and stayed up front through the first two stages. By finishing fourth in stage one and second in stage two, the team picked up 16 additional points on the night. The driver crossed the line in third-place, marking his best-career finish.

– Points Rundown: With his third-place finish in Charlotte, Kaden Honeycutt picked up two positions in the championship points standings. Firmly situated in the Playoffs, Honeycutt has 51 points over the cutline heading into the 12th race of the year. The driver is currently seven points behind Layne Riggs in sixth, and three points ahead of Jake Garcia in eighth.

– Quoting Honeycutt: Does dirty air affect you more here compared to a standard mile-and-a-half?

“I think since Nashville is concrete, you’re able to move around more to the second and third lanes to not get yourself in a treacherous situation in dirty air compared to other tracks. Everyone kind of has the same problems, so its more about execution to not get us in a bad spot. Nashville is a really good track for us, we were fast last year until we had a gear break early. So, I think we’ll have another good shot at winning a race there this time. I’m looking forward to it.”About DQS Solutions & Staffing: Guided by a mission to achieve excellence and adaptability, DQS partners with clients to create custom solutions that address unique business challenges.
