49ERS RB CHRISTIAN MCCAFFREY, EAGLES LB HAASON REDDICK &
FALCONS K YOUNGHOE KOO NAMED NFC PLAYERS OF THE MONTH
FOR DECEMBER/JANUARY
Running back CHRISTIAN MCCAFFREY of the San Francisco 49ers, linebacker HAASON REDDICK of the Philadelphia Eagles and kicker YOUNGHOE KOO of the Atlanta Falcons are the NFC Offensive, Defensive and Special Teams Players of the Month for the month of December/January (Weeks 13-18).
OFFENSE: RB CHRISTIAN MCCAFFREY, SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS
- McCaffrey totaled 27 receptions with a league-high 767 scrimmage yards (505 rushing, 262 receiving) and seven touchdowns (four rushing, three receiving), the most among NFC players, during the final six weeks of the season. He had four games with at least 135 scrimmage yards and recorded a touchdown in each of the six games from Weeks 13-18.
- This is the second Offensive Player of the Month award for McCaffrey, also having won with Carolina in September of the 2019 season. He becomes the first San Francisco running back to earn the honor.
- He is one of three former Stanford Cardinal players to win Offensive Player of the Month, along with Andrew Luck (two-time winner) and Pro Football Hall of Famer John Elway (two-time winner).
DEFENSE: LB HAASON REDDICK, PHILADELPHIA EAGLES
- Reddick led all players with eight sacks and added five tackles for loss, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery from Weeks 13-18. He was the only player with multiple sacks in three games over the final six weeks of the season.
- This is the first-career Defensive Player of the Month award for Reddick. He becomes the fourth Eagles linebacker ever to earn the honors, joining Connor Barwin (November, 2014), Mark Simoneau (October, 2003) and Jeremiah Trotter (December, 2000).
- Reddick becomes the second player from Temple to win a Player of the Month award, joining kicker Brandon McManus, who was named the Special Teams Player of the Month in October of the 2015.
SPECIAL TEAMS: K YOUNGHOE KOO, ATLANTA FALCONS
- Koo converted all 12 of his field goal attempts, including all four of his attempts of 40-or-more yards, and each of his seven point after attempts for a total of 43 points during the final six weeks of the season. He was the only player from Weeks 13-18 to kick at least 12 field goals and make 100 percent of his kicks.
- This is the second Special Teams Player of the Month award for Koo, after having won the award in November of the 2020. He becomes the third Falcons kicker to earn the honor multiple times, joining Pro Football Hall of Famer Morten Andersen (September and December, 1995) and Matt Bryant (November, 2014 and October, 2016).
- He is the second former Georgia Southern kicker to be named Special Teams Player of the Month this season, joining Buffalo’s Tyler Bass, who earned the award in November.
