New Conference, Same Foe

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University football team (3-4, 2-1 AAC) has little time to look back with a short turnaround on the way.

The Owls will have a Friday night road matchup against Charlotte, a familiar rival who joined Florida Atlantic from Conference USA to the American Athletic Conference.

This series began in 2015 with the home team FAU finding themselves on the losing end. That streak was snapped by the 2019 Owls, who proved the 45-27 winner in Boca Raton. That victory started a four-game winning streak which FAU is currently on. The Owls have enjoyed their Charlotte trips, coming away the victor in each of the four games played in North Carolina. Head Coach Tom Herman is the fourth head coach to lead FAU in Charlotte (Charlie Partridge, Lane Kiffin, and Willie Taggart the other three)
