| 4/15/2025 | No. 57 Men’s Tennis BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic men’s tennis team’s 10-8 record playing a difficult schedule has merited a No. 57 national rank and a No. 3 seed at the 2025 American Athletic Conference Championship. The AAC Championship will be played at the at the Leftwich Tennis Center on the campus of the University of Memphis. Live coverage of Sunday’s men’s final will be available on ESPN+ with Dorian Craft, Jessica Green and Breanna Sorensen on the call.The Owls, who have won nine of their last 10 dual matches, will play a quarterfinal match Friday, April 18 against either No. 11 seed Tulane or the No. 6 seed UTSA. The match is scheduled for 12 p.m. EDT. FAU has played both schools this season, coming away with a 4-3 win at UTSA back on February 21 and a 6-1 victory versus Tulane on March 23 in Paradise. FAU holds the all-time record versus the UTSA Roadrunners at 6-2 while the series between the Owls and Tulane stands at 2-2. LEADING THE OWLS Two Owls have recorded double-digit wins this season. Freshman Segundo Goity Zapico was the first to surpass the plateau and has posted a 12-7 dual match record and is 21-12 overall. Sophomore Simon Myslivec has posted a 10-3 mark in 2025 and is 14-6 overall. Mark Havlicek and Jan Kusy both hold dual match records of record of 9-8, while Havlicek is on the cusp of a 20-win sophomore season with a 19-12 record through 2024-25. Doubles have been a mainstay for the Owls with freshmen Marek Pazdera and Lucca Pignaton holding records of 11-4 and 11-6, respectively. Pazdera and Myslivec have earned a doubles’ rank of No. 89. While the young Owls have posted outstanding records, senior captain John Bernard has earned a No. 109 rank while holding a 6-9 record and most recently welcomed back graduate student Jiri Jenicek from injury.
