MOTOR CITY CRUISE SHORT WINNING STREAK SNAPPED BY COLLEGE PARK SKYHAWKS

COLLEGE PARK – Coach Bakker and the Motor City Cruise had a three-game winning streak heading into today’s game. That is the largest win-streak accomplished by Motor City this season (Winter Showcase and Regular Season). However, the Cruise would fall to College Park to split the series, with a score of 123-107.

              Along with an 11-2 run in the opening quarter by the Skyhawks. College Park had the early lead after the first, with a score of 32-26. Langston Galloway went off on a hot start, dropping 10 points in the first quarter alone for College Park. However, Devontae Cacok kept Motor City in the game up to this point, after scoring 10 points for himself in the first. In the second quarter, Brandon Williams scored 12 points to lead the Skyhawks to a 63-47 lead to end the first half. In the third, the Skyhawks took their biggest lead of the game (+23) and closed out the game in the fourth to get the win. Kyler Edwards scored 20 points in the fourth quarter alone for Motor City. He finished the second half with 25 points total.

After his second-half performance, Kyler Edwards scored a career high of 31 points in today’s game. He shot 9-16 from the floor. Devontae Cacok and Jared Rhoden both followed up with 14 points each to follow up Edwards’s impressive performance. Cacok secured his fifth double-double of the regular season. With his 14 points scored, he grabbed 14 total rebounds.

Langston Galloway finished today’s game with 25 points. He shot 10-17 from the floor tonight. Following up, Brandon Williams scored 24 points for himself. Lastly, Tyrese Martin secured a double-double. He scored 21 points and grabbed 12 total rebounds.

The Motor City Cruise fell to 5-9 and the College Park Skyhawks improved to 6-7. The Cruise will head to Long Island for February 4th’s contest with the Long Island Nets. Tip-off is slated for 7:00pm EST.
