MOTOR CITY CRUISE DEFEATS WISCONSIN HERD IN THRILLER

DETROIT – The Motor City Cruise returned to Detroit from their California road trip, to take on the Wisconsin Herd. The Motor City Cruise won in thrilling fashion, with a score of 134-130 in overtime.

After trailing 33-32 in the first quarter, the Motor City Cruise would outscore the Wisconsin Herd 38-31 in the second. The Cruise had a 70-64 lead at the end of the first half. That is the most points they ever scored in a half this season. In the third, the Wisconsin Herd would score 29 points and hold Motor City to 25, cutting down the Cruise lead. The Cruise now only led by two at the end of three, with a score of 95-93. The Herd scored 34 points in the fourth, sending the game to overtime. ShawnDre Jones hit the game-winning bucket to give the Cruise their first overtime victory of the season.

David Nwaba was the leading scorer in tonight’s game for Motor City. He scored 26 points and shot 10-17 from the floor. Keifer Sykes followed up with 22 points and 14 assists to secure his second double-double of the season. He tallied 10 of his assists in the first half alone. Lastly, Jaime Echenique scored 24 points off the bench, giving him a season high. He shot 11-14 from the floor.

For Wisconsin, Sandro Mamukelashvili scored 31 points to lead the Herd. He scored 18 points in the first half alone. He grabbed 12 rebounds to secure a double-double. Elijah Hughes followed up with 26 points. Iverson Molinar dropped 22 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, securing a double-double for himself.

The Motor City Cruise improved to 3-8 and Wisconsin Herd fell to 4-6. Both teams will be back in action at the Wayne State Field House on Wednesday, January 25th. Tip-off is slated for 7:00pm.
