DETROIT, Mich. – The Motor City Cruise, NBA G League affiliate of the Detroit Pistons, announced today the club acquired guard Jordan Wright from waivers.
Wright, 6-6, 230, is entering his rookie NBA G League campaign. He most recently played overseas with Socar Petkimspor competing in the Basketball Champions League and Turkish Basketball Super League. In a total of 14 games, Wright averaged 3.4 points, 2.4 rebounds and 0.6 assists in 16.2 minutes per game.
The Waggaman, La., native appeared in 157 collegiate games with LSU (2023-24) and Vanderbilt (2019-23). The two-time SEC Player of the Week played his final collegiate season with the Tigers with Motor City Cruise guard Trae Hannibal and averaged 15.1 points, 5.2 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 31.8 minutes per game. Prior to his final year at LSU, he spent four seasons at Vanderbilt with averages of 9.5 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 24.3 minutes per game. He helped lead the Commodores to two consecutive National Invitational Tournament seasons (2022, 2023), including an elite eight appearance in 2023. Wright holds NCAA career marks of 10.7 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 25.9 minutes per game.
