MLB season’s first month is in the books and people are excited! Making their World Series picks? Who will win the CY Young Award?
Lots to talk about in the still early season.
One thing that I will be waiting for during the end of the first half of the season are the all star snubs and who didn’t deserve to be in the big dance. It really bothers me that the fans vote for the whole thing. The fans should participate but it should also include writers, general managers, coaches, and others. The game does a great job getting the fans involved but having them vote for there favorite player whether he deserves it or not has turned into the all star popularity contest and to be honest it’s gotten stale and old.
I like it that we have an open minded commissioner in Rob Manfred. I don’t always agree with him, but I understand.
I would hope to see a real all star game where players deserve to be in the game instead of by player recognition. I think the reason the all star game is not as exciting is due to Interleague Play!
Just my two cents.
