• Last weekend’s result marked the end of U-M’s streak of 23 consecutive wins at Michigan Stadium (dating to 2021). The streak now sits as the third-longest in program history. Only Georgia (25 straight entering Week 2) has a longer active streak.
• U-M’s streak of 28 consecutive regular season wins (dating to 2021) also ended on Saturday. The 28 wins tied a new record for the Big Ten Conference (previously shared by 1901-03 Michigan, 2005-07 Ohio State).
• As the Wolverines prepare for this weekend’s matchup with Arkansas State, the game will mark U-M’s 155th all-time unique opponent and the second this season (Fresno State).
• Seven Wolverines have made their collegiate debuts so far this season: Bryson Kuzdzal (running back) Evan Link (offensive line), Jordan Marshall (running back), Jason Hewlett (linebacker), Breeon Ishmail (edge), Ike Iwunnah (defensive line), and Cole Sullivan (linebacker).
• Another six players made their first career starts as Wolverines after earning starting assignments at their previous institutions: C.J. Charleston (wide receiver), Josh Priebe (offensive line), Josaiah Stewart (edge), Ernest Hausmann, Jaishawn Barham (linebacker), and Dominic Zvada (kicker).
• Eight players have made their first career starts this fall: wide receiver Kendrick Bell, center Dominick Giudice, right tackle Evan Link, wide receiver Peyton O’Leary, quarterback Davis Warren on offense; defensive back Zeke Berry, defensive back Jyaire Hill, and edge Derrick Moore on defense.
• Tight end Colston Loveland has caught eight passes in both of U-M’s first two games, setting and matching a new career-high. His 88 yards in the season opener was also a career-best, and he passed 1,000 career yards against Texas (1,041 yards).
• Loveland’s 77 career receptions rank sixth all-time for tight ends (passed Jay Riemersma’s 74, 1992-95) and his 1,041 career receiving yards are now fifth all-time among tight ends at U-M (passed Dick Rifenberg’s 1,006, 1946-48).
• The U-M passing offense has spread passes around to nine different targets so far, with three players at five catches or more: Loveland, Semaj Morgan, and Tyler Morris.
• The Michigan defense has surrendered a total of seven second-half points this year.
• Two members of the secondary have recorded interceptions: Will Johnson and Zeke Berry; Johnson’s was returned 86 yards for a touchdown against Fresno State.
• Three of the five touchdown drives the Wolverines have allowed required the offense to travel 75-plus yards down the field.
• Michigan’s special teams unit is thought of highly by Pro Football Focus (PFF), which grades the unit fourth (84.7) in the country.
• Kicker Dominic Zvada converted a 52-yard field goal last weekend, giving him three over 50 yards so far this year (52, 53, 55). Zvada is one 50-plus yard field goal shy of matching the career record at Michigan (four) in a single season.
• Zvada and SMU’s Collin Rogers are the only FBS kickers with three-plus successful conversions at 50-plus yards in the first two weeks of the year.
• This marks the third year in a row that a Wolverine kicker converted three 50-plus yard field goals in a season (Moody 2022, Turner ’23, Zvada ’24).
