Major Projects underway in Oakland Park
From David Volz
There are several important projects underway in Oakland Park. As the City gears up for its centennial in 2029, it continues to work diligently on new facilities and amenities to enhance the safety and well-being of our community.
City leaders are offering an update on the progress of our highly anticipated Fire Station 9 at the corner of NE 6th Avenue and Park Lane East/NE 38th Street. Installation of the roofing membrane is nearing completion, and the metal panels have been attached to the south entrance of the main building. Inside the Fire Station, contractors are installing epoxy flooring in the bathrooms, hanging the ceiling grid, and finishing the drywall. Station 9 represents an investment of more than $16.6 million into public safety, fire, and emergency medical services in Oakland Park, according to a statement from Oakland Park.
