Miami Dade has launched Safe in the 305

Miami-Dade County has launched the Safe in the 305 grant program to encourage residents and community stakeholders to design initiatives that will make their neighborhoods safer. A component of the County’s Peace and Prosperity Plan, the Safe in the 305 program will be accepting applications now through July 6, 2022.

“Through Safe in the 305, we want to activate community participation to create safer neighborhoods; amplifying the voices of residents and community leaders to prevent violence, build capacity within communities, and bridge gaps between residents and their government to improve quality of life,” said Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava. “These grants will allow community leaders and residents alike to reimagine safety in their neighborhoods. We encourage neighbors to get together and propose projects that will keep our residents safe and create stronger communities.”

The first round of grant funding will highlight projects that address blight through beautification such as graffiti removal, neighborhood/block cleanups, and creating/expanding community gardens. Grant awards will range from $500-$1,500.
