Miami-Dade celebrates upgrades at Park

Miami-Dade Commissioner Raquel Regalado and Miami-Dade County Parks Director Maria Nardi hosted a dedication and ribbon-cutting ceremony at Devon Aire Park in Miami.to celebrate several new upgrades recently completed to beautify and make the park more accessible and enjoyable for all. The public is invited to attend.

The new park amenities include an 800 square foot picnic shelter that can accommodate approximately 14 people, two picnic tables, and connecting walkways.

Improvements to the park were completed by Miami-Dade Parks Design and Build Team in collaboration with construction contractor Top Craft Inc. The project cost was approximately $225,320. Funding was provided by the Quality Neighborhood Improvement Program (QNIP), the Building Better Communities General Obligation Bond Program and Impact Fees.

“Devon Aire Park is a cherished gem and active recreation hub for this community. I am grateful to the Parks Department for completing this much needed park project,” said Regalado. “This new picnic shelter and connecting walkways will make it easier for residents to enjoy all that this park has to offer.”

“We are starting the year off right by elevating one of the best gifts our County gives us, being able to enjoy the weather outside surrounded by nature,” said Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava. “Since I was a Commissioner, I have seen the Devon Aire Park become an invaluable space for the community in South Miami-Dade, with a robust sports program and a safe playground for children in the community who go there after school. I am proud of our Parks Department for building and improving environments like this one that foster healthier and more sustainable communities.”
