Men’s Golf Will Tee It Up at Linger Longer Invitational

Coming off a win at last week, the Bulls head to Lake Oconee, GA

TAMPA, FLA., March 17, 2023 – The USF men’s golf team will compete in the Linger Longer Invitational in Lake Oconee, GA March 19-21.

The tournament will be played at Great Waters CC (Par-72, 7,436 Yards). Teams will begin play Monday with 18 holes, will play 18 holes Tuesday, and conclude with 18 holes on Wednesday. All three rounds will start at 8:30 am with tee times off the first and tenth holes.

USF will compete in a 16-team field with: Alabama, Arkansas, Augusta, Charlotte, Chattanooga, Clemson, Georgia, Georgia Tech, UNC Greensboro, Ken­nesaw State, Mercer, South Alabama, South Florida, Vanderbilt, Virginia, and Wofford

Head Coach Steve Bradley announced the following competitors for the Bulls: 

Jake Peacock (So., Milton, Ga.), Shubham Jaglan (So., Delhi, India), Sam Nicholson (Jr., Atlantic Beach, Fla.), Nino Palmquist (Fr., Halmstad, Sweden), Chase Gullikson (So., Orlando, Fla.)

LAST TIME OUT

The Bulls last competed at the Ross Collegiate Classic where they captured their first victory of the season.

USF recorded a total of 15-under par 849 to outdistance the field by 10 shots on
Mid Pines Golf Club (Par-72, 6,713 Yards).

The Bulls were led by Jake Peacock (So., Milton, GA) who finished third with rounds of 71, 70 and 66, his lowest as a Bulls since transferring from Western Carolina. Shubham Jaglan (So., Delhi, India) posted rounds of 69, 69 and 73 for a five-under par total of 211 to finish fourth. Sam Nicholson (Jr., Atlantic Beach, FL) finished seventh with rounds of 71, 72 and 71 to finish at two-under 214.

About USF Men’s Golf

The USF men’s golf program has captured 17 conference titles and has seen players earn 19 All-America honors. The Bulls have won five American Athletic Conference Tournament championships in wire-to-wire fashion, winning four-consecutive from 2015-18. The Bulls have had four individual conference champions, including Albin Bergstrom in 2021, and gone on to earn nine straight NCAA Regional appearances, including a 6th place finish in NCAA Championship match-play in 2015. USF is led by Steve Bradley, who has been named American Athletic Conference Coach of the Year five times since taking over the program in 2014. The Bulls have posted 20 tournament wins under Bradley entering the 2022-23 season, by far the most under any coach in program history.
