Men’s Golf – Hay, Torres Named PING All-Americans

NORMAN, Okla. – The Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) announced the 2024 Division II PING All-American teams on Thursday. Joseba Torres and Mike Hay were recognized with Second-Team honors. 

Torres, the lone representative for the Sharks at the NCAA Division II National Championship, placed sixth overall (-5/69/69/70/208) during the NCAA national tournament and was the highest finishing individual. Torres held a 70.7 adjusted scoring average throughout the 2023-24 season and ended the year as the 26th ranked golfer in NCAA Division II. Torres earned a pair of top-three finishes during the campaign, placing third at the National Preview (-4/73/72/67/212) and second at the NCAA DII South/Southeast Regional (-7/65/71/73). 

Hay, the Sunshine State Conference Men’s Golfer of the Year and individual SSC Conference Champion, enjoyed a dominant 2023-24 campaign as a graduate student. Hay recorded three first place finishes, including winning the Sunshine State Conference Tournament. Through 11 tournaments, Hay has recorded a 70.5 adjusted scoring average and added six top-five finishes. He ranks 16th on Clippd’s scoreboard. Hay became the fourth Nova Southeastern men’s golfer to be recognized as the Sunshine State Men’s Golfer of the Year and the first since 2015. Hay also earned his third consecutive first-team all-Sunshine State Conference honor of his career.
