Men’s Cross Country & Track: Lynn University Announces 2020 Recruiting Class

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Lynn University’s men’s cross country and track programs announced its incoming recruiting class for the 2020-21 season on Wednesday afternoon, welcoming a cohort of four new Blue and White student-athletes.

“This is a special group! In this class, we have added a collection of young men who will represent the Blue & White at the highest level. These athletes exemplified the characteristics of Spirit, Service and Strength during their time in high school and we fully anticipate them to continue that here at Lynn,” commented head coach Chris Wood.

Collin Clark
Freshman
St. Louis, Mo. / Ladue Horton Watkins HS

Clark enjoyed an outstanding high school career in Saint Louis, being a member of the 2019 State Champion 4×400 relay team. In cross country, he was also named Big River All-Metro and was a three-time team MVP.

From the Coaches: “Collin is a true leader and is going to be an instant contributor to our cross country and track teams. As an Eagle Scout the dedication to doing things the right way is going to help him to add even more quality leadership to our team.”

Philip Henderson
Freshman
Saint Petersburg, Fla. / Admiral Farragut HS

Henderson will head to Florida’s East Coast for his collegiate career after a successful time as a prep in the greater-Tampa area. He finished fourth in the 800m (1:57.34) at the 2019 State Championships and competed on the second-place 4×800 relay team.

John-Anthony Hernandez
Freshman
Saint Cloud, Fla. / Saint Cloud HS


Hernandez finished first in the 3200m at the 2019 Orange Belt Conference Championships and took the top spot in the 3200m at the 2019 Saint Cloud Invite. He also competed at the prestigious Florida Relays as a member of Saint Cloud’s eighth-place 4×800 relay team.

From the Coaches: “John-Anthony just finished his senior season as one of the top cross country guys in the state. We are extremely excited to add his hard work and dedication to his craft to our current team.”

Luke Sweatman
Freshman
Thibodeaux, La. / Thibodeaux HS 

Sweatman holds school record in the 1600, 3200 and 3-mile at THS on both the track and cross country sides. He makes his way to Boca Raton from the Bayou, joining John Ross Donnes as Lynn’s second Louisiana-commit in the last two years.
