Men’s Basketball – Sharks highlight NABC All-South District awards

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced the 2024-25 All-District teams and District Coaches of the Year on Monday morning. The All-District honors were voted on by NABC-member coaches across NCAA Division II. Nova Southeastern had three student-athletes recognized by the association, as MJ Iraldi and Dallas Graziani were named to the first-team, Ryker Cisarik received second-team honors, while Head Coach Jim Crutchfield was named the South District Coach of the Year. 

MJ Iraldi earns another honor, having already been named to the All-Sunshine State Conference and D2 CCA South Region first-teams, in addition to earning SSC and D2 CCA South Region Player of the Year recognition. Iraldi set the single season scoring record at ova Southeastern and leads NCAA Division II in points (799). Iraldi ranks tenth nationally in in points-per-game (23.5). Iraldi surpassed 30 points in eight games on the 2024-25 season, including tying the second most points scored in a single game (42) in program history on February 26 against Embry-Riddle. In tournament play, Iraldi is averaging 19.2 points and eight rebounds per game, while having also recorded double-doubles in both the NCAA South Region Tournament semifinals and championship game. Iraldi is a top-25 candidate for the Bevo Francis Award and top-15 candidate for the Trevor Hudgins Award, presented annually by Small College Basketball.  

Dallas Graziani, in his return season to the Sharks Men’s Basketball program, continues to scatter his name throughout the record book. Graziani set the single season school record for assists in a season (311+) and is approaching the single season steals record (98/Nick Smith 2021-22). The junior set the record for assists in a single game (17) on November 3, 2024, against St. Thomas Aquinas College and later tied the mark on January 29, 2025, versus Lynn. Graziani was named to the Sunshine State Conference first-team, the SSC all-defensive team, in addition to earning first-team D2 CCA South Region recognition. Graziani joins Iraldi as a top-25 candidate for the Bevo Francis Award.  

Cisarik has set career-highs across the board in his second season as a member of the Sharks Men’s Basketball program. Cisarik led the Sunshine State Conference in field goal percentage (0.606), while ranking fourth in the league in blocks (48), blocks-per-game (1.5), and rebounds (244), as well as fifth in scoring (18.8 ppg). Cisarik scored a career-high 32 points against Alabama-Huntsville on November 8, 2024, and grabbed a career-best 15 rebounds against Palm Beach Atlantic on February 12. During the NCAA South Region tournament, Cisarik averaged 26 points, seven rebounds, 1.5 blocks and 1.5 steals, earning all-tournament recognition. Cisarik totaled six double-doubles on the season and was recognized to both the All-Sunshine State Conference second-team and the all-defensive team. Cisarik joins Iraldi and Graziani as a candidate for the Bevo Francis Award and Iraldi as a candidate for the Trevor Hudgins award.  

Crutchfield earned the South District Coach of the Year award and has continued to have the Sharks Men’s Basketball program as a college basketball powerhouse. In the last four seasons, Crutchfield has guided the Sharks to a 132-5 record, winning the Sunshine State Conference and SSC tournament titles in each season, as well as leading NSU to the NCAA Division II Elite Eight. Crutchfield has the Sharks leading NCAA Division II in points-per-game (102.8), scoring margin (+23), assists-per-game (23.9), and assist/turnover ratio (2.27), while ranking inside the top-10 nationally in turnover margin (2nd/+8.5), steals-per-game (3rd/11.9), field goal percentage (4th/0.516), rebounds-per-game (6th/42.5), rebound margin (9th/+7.5), turnovers forced per-game (9th/18.97) and fastbreak points-per-game 19.35).  

No. 2 Nova Southeastern, the top-seed in the NCAA Division II Elite Eight, will play eighth-seeded Assumption (MA.) in the national quarterfinals on Tuesday, March 25th. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. EST at the Ford Center in Evansville, IN. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.
