BOCA RATON, Fla. – Coming off a 28-point victory to close the regular season, Matas Vokietaitis of the Florida Atlantic men’s basketball team claimed his league-best sixth American Athletic Conference Freshman of the Week honor, announced by the AAC on Monday.
The center from Lithuania recorded a new career-high in points with 21 against UAB on 9-10 shooting from the field with eight rebounds and a career-high-tying three blocks. In the victory over East Carolina, Vokietaitis finished the game with his second double-digit scoring game of the week with 10 points along with five rebounds, two blocks and an assist.
