MBB | Florida Atlantic Announces 2024-25 Non-Conference Schedule

9/10/2024 | Men’s Basketball
BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic’s men’s basketball team, led by Head Coach John Jakus in his first season at the helm, has announced their 2024-25 non-conference schedule.
The Owls’ 13-game non-conference slate begins Nov. 4 versus Indiana State and is highlighted by power conference matchups versus Michigan State, Oklahoma State, and UCF, a potential tilt versus Miami in the Charleston Classic and in-state battles with FIU, FGCU and Jacksonville.
On the heels of consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances for the first time in school history, Florida Atlantic enters this highly anticipated campaign under Jakus and his new staff with a roster that welcomes 11 new faces on the court.
“We worked hard at putting this schedule together to make sure it would be something that everyone wanted to see,” said Head Coach John Jakus. “Nowadays you must play tough teams to get an at-large bid to the tournament. We have a lot of respect for all of our opponents. Not only are we excited for the upcoming season, but we are also extremely excited to pack the Elly once again.”
The Owls have been one of the nation’s best teams over the last two seasons, especially at home, where FAU has compiled a 30-1 home record and has sold out 21 consecutive games. Florida Atlantic was one of just 14 teams nationally to sell out every home game last season, a list that includes Auburn, Connecticut, Dayton, Duke, Gonzaga, Houston, Kansas, and Michigan State.
