BOCA RATON, Fla. – The start of the final home series for Lynn University’s softball did not go as planned with Embry-Riddle taking both games, 5-1 and 9-7, on Thursday afternoon. The Fighting Knights nearly mounted a comeback in game two only to have the tying run strike out in the bottom of the seventh.

STATS OF THE GAME:
· Game 1
o Embry-Riddle scored twice in the third but Lynn answered with a run in the home half. Unfortunately the Eagles added three runs in the fifth.
o Elizabeth Diaz went 2-for-3.
o Britney Purser had the only RBI also going 1-for-3.
o Arenson scored the lone run.
o Allyson Jameston (4-14) surrendered five runs on five hits with four strikeouts before giving way to Olivia Saviskas. Saviskas tossed two scoreless innings.
· Game 2
o Lynn trailed by as many as four runs on two separate occasions only to claw back into the game.
o Arenson cleared the bases in the bottom of the seventh with a two-out, three-run double but was stranded on second to end the game.
o She would go 2-for-5 with four RBIS.
o Natalie Costero was 1-for-2 with a walk, hit by pitch and three runs scored.
o Both Shannon Johnson and Mia Veliz went 2-for-4 with a RBI and run scored.
o Wyatt was 2-for-5 with a run and RBI.
o Kayla Sheffield (8-13) took the loss after allowing three runs on four hits over two innings.
o Saviskas came on in relief for the second consecutive game but allowed six runs, five earned, on nine hits over 4.2 innings of work.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
· Lynn has had 27 games decided by two runs or less this season.
· Arenson’s four RBIs is a career-high, surpassing her previous record of three set four times in 2018.
· The junior second baseman now leads the team with 18 RBI and 12 doubles, which is fourth in the Sunshine State Conference.
· Arenson becomes just the fourth player in program history, and first since 2008-09, to have consecutive years with at least 11 doubles. Her 25 career doubles ties her for 10th in program history.
