Los Angeles Rams Gave Their All, But The Lions Gave Even More

By: Jeremy T. Ballreich

Sunday Night Football with the third Primetime Game of the week. And the only played Nationally on NBC, as well as streaming on the Peacock App. The Los Angeles Rams came to the gridiron of Ford Field to face off against the Detroit Lions who beat them in their wild card match up. The game was an epic contest.

At one point, it looked like the Lions were on cruise control. A 14-point lead in the third quarter. But the Los Angeles Rams decided they are having none of that and put together 3 scoring drives to take the lead with 4:30 seconds left, 20-17.

The Lions get the ball with a little over two minutes on the clock. Drive down to let place kicker Jake Bates hit a 32-yard field goal to tie the game at 20 points apiece.

Overtime:

Lions get the ball and basically run the ball straight into the heart of the Rams defense and the hearts of the fans to the tune of 45 yards scoring the game winner at the goal line.

My hot players of the game:

Lions:

Jameson Williams: Five receptions for 121 yards and one touchdown.

David Montgomery: with 17 carries for 91 yards and one touch down.

Alex Anzalone: 13 Tackles with 3 Tackles for Loss (8th player to do so since 1994 in the NFL).

Jake Bates: making both field goal attempts he had. Including the game tieing field goal to send the game into overtime!

Kerby Joseph and Aiden Hutchinson with honorable mentions.

Rams:

Cooper Kupp: with 14 receptions 110 yards and one touchdown.

Quentin Lake: with 10 Tackles and a quarterback hit to force a big incompletion.
