The following are post-game notes from the Detroit Lions’ 34-20 loss to the Minnesota Vikings at U.S.
Bank Stadium on Sunday, Nov. 8, 2020.
POST-GAME NOTES
LIONS SCORING PLAYS

  • Second Quarter: K Matt Prater converted a 23-yard field goal to cut the Vikings’ lead to 13-3 with 8:21 left in the half.
  • Second Quarter: Lions QB Matthew Stafford threw a 15-yard touchdown to WR Marvin Jones Jr. K Matt Prater made the extra point to cut the score to 13-10 with 1:19 left in the half.
  • Fourth Quarter: K Matt Prater connected on a 45-yard field goal to trim Minnesota’s lead to 27-13 with 11:02 left.
  • Fourth Quarter: QB Chase Daniel threw a two-yard touchdown pass to TE T.J. Hockenson. K Matt Prater made the extra point to make the score 34-20 with 6:55 left in the game.
    TEAM NOTES
    The Lions…
  • Blocked two punts in the same game for the first time in franchise history.
  • Recorded a blocked punt for the second-straight game. This is the first time they’ve blocked punts in consecutive games since doing so in Weeks 12-13 of the 1977 season.
  • The Lions now have three blocked punts in a season for the first time since 1975.
  • Scored 20 points for the eighth-straight game to start the season. The only other times Detroit has scored at least 20 points in each of the first eight games of a season were in 1990, 1954 and 1951.
    INDIVIDUAL NOTES
    WR DANNY AMENDOLA
  • Caught seven passes for 77 yards (11.0 avg.), had one rush for two yards and returned two punts for 33 yards (16.5 avg.).
  • Became the oldest player in franchise history (35) to produce a game with at least 75 receiving yards.
  • Joins WR Golden Tate (2015) as the only Lions since 1989 to produce a game with at least five receptions, one rush and one punt return.
    DE AUSTIN BRYANT
  • Finished with two solo tackles and blocked his first-career punt.
    TE T.J. HOCKENSON
  • Registered five receptions for 39 yards (7.8 avg.) and one touchdown.
  • Now has seven receiving touchdowns through his first 20 career games, tied for the fourth-most in franchise history and tied with TE Joseph Fauria for the most by a tight end.
    WR MARVIN JONES JR.
  • Logged three receptions for 43 yards (14.3 avg.) and one touchdown.
  • Caught his 31st -career touchdown with Detroit, tying TE Charlie Sanders for the seventh-most receiving touchdowns in team history.
  • Produced his 16th receiving touchdown against the NFC North since he joined the Lions in 2016, the second-most receiving touchdowns a player has scored against his own division in that span.
    DE ROMEO OKWARA
  • Finished with three total tackles, one pass defense and the first blocked punt of his career.
    QB MATTHEW STAFFORD
  • Finished 23-of-32 (71.9%) for 211 yards and one touchdown.
  • Passed Hall of Fame QB Dan Fouts (43,040) for the 17th
    -most passing yards in NFL history.
  • Completed 16-straight passes in the first half, the second-longest completion streak in franchise history.
  • Finished the first half 16-of-18 for an 88.9 completion percentage, the highest in the first half of a game in franchise history (min. 15 pass attempts).
  • Has now thrown for a touchdown in 11-straight games, the fourth-longest streak of his career.
  • Has now thrown for at least one touchdown in each of the first eight games of a season for the third time of his career and the first time since 2013.
  • Has now thrown a touchdown in six-straight road games.
    RB D’ANDRE SWIFT
  • Rushed 13 times for 64 yards (4.9 avg.) and caught three passes for 33 yards (11.0 avg.) to total 97 scrimmage yards on the day.
  • Became the fourth Lions player to total at least 250 rushing yards and 200 receiving yards through their first eight career games, joining RBs Jahvid Best (2010), James Jones (1983) and Billy Sims (1980).
    CB DESMOND TRUFANT
  • Finished with six tackles (four solo), 1.0 sack and one pass defense.
  • Became the sixth Lions cornerback since 1999 to finish a game with 1.0 sack and a pass defense, and the first to do so since CB Darius Slay at Chicago on Oct. 2, 2016.
  • Recorded his first sack of the season and reached 6.0 for his career. Since 2015, he is the only cornerback in the NFL with at least 10 interceptions and 5.0 sacks.
