MELBOURNE, Fla. – Nova Southeastern men’s soccer standouts Michael Lawrence, Milos Christoforou, and Farid Sar-Sar have been honored as All-Sunshine State Conference members, announced by the league office on Wednesday. Lawrence and Christoforou were named to the All-SSC First Team, while Sar-Sar tabbed a spot on the second team.
Voting was conducted among the league’s coaches.
After being selected to the All-SSC second team in 2019, Lawrence made significant strides during his 2022 campaign to garner a spot on the All-SSC first team. The Miramar native appeared in 14 games for the Sharks, and started in 12. The forward matched with a team-high seven goals, including two games with multi-goal performances, across a combined 976 minutes. Lawrence found his stride as SSC play began, scoring six goals in the final nine matches of the regular season.
Christoforou followed up his stellar 2021 season with another successful campaign in 2022, starting in all but two games for the Sharks. The Spaniard tied with Lawrence for the most goals on the team, one multi-goal game performance, including three-game winners, which was also a team lead. Christoforou closed out the regular season by scoring four goals over the Sharks final six games.
Sar-Sar makes his second straight All-SSC team, playing a vital role in the success of the Sharks defense. The senior started in all 16 games for the Sharks, leading NSU in total minutes played with 1402 combined minutes, almost 200 more than any other Shark. Sar-Sar’s key defensive presence was pivotal for the Sharks, helping lead NSU to four shutouts on the season.
