Jaydon Hill’s Career Day Nets SEC Player of the Week Honors

Hill recorded two interception against Missouri, including a pick-six in the second quarter

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – A career day by Jaydon Hill in the win over Missouri earned him SEC Defensive Player of the Week honors for the first time in his career, the league office announced Monday. The redshirt sophomore defensive back is the third Gator to earn conference player of the week honors this season (Richardson, Cox Jr. – Sept. 5).

In just his second game back coming off injury, Hill recorded his first career interceptions, including a 49-yard pick-six in the second quarter that gave the Gators a 10-0 lead. Hill’s second interception came late in the third quarter, halting Missouri’s drive deep in Florida territory at the 4-yard line.

With the multi-interception game, the Huntsville, Alabama native became the first Florida player with two interceptions and a pick-six in the same game since CJ Gardner-Johnson did it against Michigan in the Peach Bowl on Dec. 29, 2018.

Florida hosts LSU on Saturday for a 7 p.m. kickoff on ESPN.
