JAGUARS SIGN TWO PLAYERS TO THE SECONDARY

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed
eighth-year DB Josh Robinson and first-year S Anthony “Fish”
Smithson to the active roster, the club announced today. Robinson,
5-10, 199, has appeared in 85 career games and totaled 148 tackles
(132 solo), 15 passes defensed and five INTs. After originally being
drafted by Minnesota in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft out
of UCF, he spent four seasons (2012-15) with the Vikings before
signing as an unrestricted free agent with Tampa Bay. Robinson
played two seasons (2016-17) with the Buccaneers and most recently
spent the 2018 season with the New Orleans Saints, where he
appeared in 11 games. A native of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., he played
collegiately at UCF and started 35 of 38 career games, posting
10 INTs. Smithson, 5-11, 196, originally signed with Washington
in 2017 as an undrafted free agent and appeared in two games
during his rookie season. He spent part of the 2018 season on
Arizona’s practice squad and signed with the Los Angeles Chargers
on Jan. 3, 2019. The Baltimore, Md. native played collegiately at
Kansas and appeared in 35 games, totaling 253 tackles, six INTs
and three forced fumbles. The Jaguars now have 90 players on
their active roster.
