JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Jaguars have reached an agreement to re-sign seventh-year OL Tyler Shatley, the team announced today.
“Tyler has worked hard during his career to improve his craft and contribute to the team in every facet,” said Head Coach Doug Marrone. “I appreciate his commitment to this team and franchise and look forward to his continued progression.”
Shatley, 6-3, 310, has appeared in 78 games and made 16 starts during his six-year career in Jacksonville. He was one of three undrafted rookies to make the opening day roster in 2014 and has played in all 16 regular season games on three occasions. The Icard, N.C. native has contributed on the offensive line and special teams, including serving as the team’s long snapper on game-tying and game-winning field goal attempts on Nov. 12, 2017 against the Los Angeles Chargers.
In 2017, Shatley was part of an offensive line that helped the team lead the league in rushing for the first time in franchise history and allowed a franchise-low 24 sacks.
The former Clemson Tiger began his career as a fullback in college, before moving to the defensive line in 2010 and offensive line in the spring of 2012. He attended East Burke (Icard, N.C.) High School, where he was the number 3-rated FB in the nation and also was the team’s punter.
He and his wife, Natalie, have two sons, Sutton and Boone.
