(On OL Walker Little being moved to left tackle) “Yeah, I mean, I’d say first of all, I’m not
supposed to talk about any of the stuff with where we’re at now, but just Cam [OL Cam
Robinson], I’m very appreciative of him, what he’s done for me. Obviously, I’ve got soft spot
for those guys up front, and they’ve got a hard job and very selfless and he’s been here a
long time. So, I’m grateful for him, always going to wish him the best. He’s a guy that I’ve
loved playing with over the past few years. And so that’s part of this business, right? The
situations that change and losing teammates and friends and stuff in different areas, that
can be tough, but on the flip side, I will say, Walker’s done a great job. I’m excited for this
opportunity for him. He’s played great when he’s had the opportunities the last few years.
He’s been put in some tough spots. He’s had to play a lot of different positions. He’s had to
come in, in ‘22 when Cam got hurt, and finish the season when we were on that run. We
didn’t skip a beat because he was prepared, and he prepared every day like a starter. So,
he’s been ready for his opportunities and that’s not easy to do when you’re not the full-time
guy and now that he’s getting that opportunity, I’m excited for him. So, I think there’s always
two sides to it and it’s tough. But obviously Walker, like I said, he’s more than ready and he’s
done a great job. I’m excited for him. I’ve got all the faith in the world, and he’s played great
so far.”
(On WR Parker Washington’s improvement from last season to this season) “He’s been
great. I think just the improvements he’s made on whether it’s just knowing the system, the
ins and outs. Last year when he played a lot, he knew the system. But I think understanding
why you do things a certain way, running routes a certain way versus different coverages or
zones or sitting in certain spots. I think just all of that, he’s developed a lot more over the
past year. Because he had a full offseason, he had all this time in the offseason to train and
he looks great, he’s explosive. You see him when he came in on Sunday playing on the
outside, playing on the inside. He can move around and just do a lot of things that help us.
So, in a time like this, when the season goes on and we have guys banged up and you’re not
always 100 percent sure on what Sunday is going to look like because you’re just trying to
get there and see who’s healthy. So, that’s helpful when you have a guy that can do as many
things as he can, and it’s been good for us.”
(On spending more time throwing to other receivers) “Definitely, I mean, me and Parker
have worked a lot, obviously, because the year he had last year and the offseason and all
that stuff, there was a plan obviously to get him involved and to have things for him. We’ve
been working him in even before the injuries. I feel like that chemistry is there. Definitely
with the other guys too that could possibly be up on Sunday. Just making sure that we’re all
good on basic stuff, timing. Obviously, I throw a little bit to them as the season goes on, but
it’s not as much as the main guys just naturally you only have so much time. So just kind of
making up for some of those reps now this week and getting the plan in and running all
these different routes with the guys just to make sure whatever happens, whoever’s out
there, we’re ready and we’ve gotten the reps.”
(On how WR Christian Kirk’s spirits are) “He’s good, yeah, saw him yesterday and yeah, he’s
doing good. Obviously, I hate that for him. Just one great player and huge impact for our
offense and our team. But also, there’s just not someone that works harder and it sucks to
see him the last two years have a season-ending deal. Just sucks. You see how hard he
works, and obviously I know him really well and know how much he puts into it, how much
it means to him. So that’s definitely disappointing whenever that happens to guys on your
team. So just praying for him, speedy recovery. I know he’s going to be back better than he
was before and it’s just the beginning for him. So, I know he’s in good spirits but obviously
frustrated. How could you not be? It’s hard when it gets taken from you like that and you’re
out for the year.”
(On how hard it will be to lose Kirk as a leader in the locker room) “Yeah, just he’s just such
a steady voice out there. He’s really smart. There are times where when things get crazy or
you’re moving fast, he directs a lot of the traffic outside. So, guys got to step up, whoever’s
in that role on certain plays has to step up and everyone just has to be themselves. You
don’t have to try to be Christian. You don’t have to try to be anything other than yourself but
you’ve got to really master your role, your position, the plan and you’ve got to know what to
do. I’ve got a lot of faith in those guys and Chad [Wide Receivers Coach Chad Hall] to get
them ready and no questions in my mind. But yeah, it’s definitely, definitely a void to fill as
far as, like you said, the production and the locker room presence. He’s a great leader. He’s
a good voice in that room. Very steady, same guy every day and so guys just have to step
up.”
(On what challenges Eagles Defensive Coordinator Vic Fangio’s defense will present)
“Yeah, played against his… I mean, he’s been on a few different teams obviously as of
recent. Then his coaching tree is pretty big, too. So, I mean you look at Chargers or similar
when Staley [San Francisco 49ers Assistant Head Coach/Defense Brandon Staley] was
there, that defense with similar system. Denver, played against him in a similar scheme and
then my rookie year, played against him in Denver too. So yeah, I mean he’s just—well-
coached defense. They know what to do. Everything looks the same, really good disguises.
It all comes out of this shell, and then at the snap, it changes. They do a good job of
disguising some pressures, they mix the fronts up. It’s not a group that pressures a ton
necessarily. They just do it at the right time, they’re on the same page. They really stress
your protections when they do. They like to get one-on-ones upfront. This D-line is a really
good group. So, they play to their strengths and then the guys in the back end, they fly
around. These backers are really physical, very physical. And then the back end is smart,
and they’ve got good ball skills and they’re all playing together. So, I think you see their
defense, every week you watch the season, they’ve gotten better and better every week.”
(On if the position the Jaguars are in can be difficult to deal with) “I mean, nothing surprises
me anymore with this league and different things you hear, or people say. I mean, just try to
block all of it out because a lot of it is, if something happens, it’s how you respond to it and
then you move forward. But there’s no point in speculating on stuff like that. I mean, people
just say crazy stuff, honestly. I mean, part of y’all’s job is not to say crazy stuff, but to report
rumors or whatever. A lot of this stuff, in my opinion, has no weight. I know we’re 2-6 and
we’re struggling and not making any excuses for it. But it’s like every week you lose, the
sky’s falling on Monday. It’s like you have to remind yourself just to take a deep breath,
relax, and how do we put together a plan to go win this week? I feel like you can’t put
yourself in panic mode of freaking out trying to get this thing back on track. You’ve just got
to put together another good week and go to work. There’s really no other answer. If there
was one answer that I could give you, we would have already done it. So, we’ve just got to
go have a great week of prep and go play well and execute on Sunday and make a couple
more plays than the Eagles and find a way to win the game.”
(On if he feels extra pressure on himself given all of the offensive injuries) “No, I mean, I
need to play well. It’s the same thing every week, though. I’m not putting any more pressure
on myself. I’ve got to play well. I’ve got to play well every week to give us a chance to win.
That’s just playing quarterback in this league. It’s not unique to our team or the situation.
It’s just how it is. So yeah, I’m just going to, like I said, have a great week of prep. Make sure
I’m ready to go on Sunday and work through all those things like we talked about, whether
all the guys are—obviously Christian’s not going to be out there, but all the other guys that
are a little banged up, if they’re good to go, great. We’re prepared for that. That’s not much
change. But if that’s not the case, how do we work out all the other stuff and making sure
that I talk through with all those guys that could possibly play and make sure that we’re all
dialed in and ready to go. That’s my responsibility and the coaches’responsibility and we’ll
make sure that we’re ready and then just go play. Trust those guys to go win. We’ve got good
players. Obviously, when you’re missing guys, it sucks, and you want your guys out there.
But we’ve got players that are ready that are more than capable of doing their job.”
(On what he remembers about his first trip to Philadelphia) “Rough. Rough day for us in
Philly. Just the weather was bad. I didn’t play well. Had plenty of opportunities to win the
game. We had a big lead early and let them back in the game. So, I remember that one and
don’t want to feel like that leaving Philly this time.”
(On how much he’s grown as a player since facing Philadelphia last) “Yeah, grown a lot. I’ve
played a lot of football since then, been in a lot of different situations. Yeah, I mean, I’ve
grown a lot as a player. I mean, situations obviously change every year and the teams are
different. But it would be cool to go back there and obviously it’s a hostile environment, but
it’s a fun place to play. That’s one of the cool stadiums and environments to play in just
because you’re ready for a crazy group and it’s going to be loud. It’s exciting, so it’ll be fun.”
(On cleaning up pre-snap penalties) “Definitely, that’s something to always talk about is
penalties and stuff you can control. I think those are the things that you harp on the most
just because they’re controllables. There are times where I don’t ever focus too much on
making the play or doing certain things because it’s football and that’s going to happen. You
might miss a few plays and you’re going to make a lot more than you miss. But the stuff you
can control, the penalties, that stuff we’ve got to clean up. So, I think there was a couple of
misunderstandings out there on some of them that were interesting. But I think besides
that, there are some things that we need to clean up and do better, but I think there was
one motion where it wasn’t really—Gabe [WR Gabe Davis], the false start, I think that’s
something that, I don’t know that necessarily was a false start. Just something that we
coach, and we’ve got to maybe let him know beforehand, because it does time up with our
cadence really well. So that’s one where I don’t see that one as on Gabe necessarily, we
just have to prepare for that and let them know that that’s something that we’re going to
do.”

(On what he’s seen from OL Walker Little) “I feel great about him. Obviously, he’s been here.
He’s worn a lot of hats for us. He’s played inside. He’s played outside. He’s played both
tackle spots. I think after the first little bit of the game, he really settled in, did some nice
things, and got a lot of confidence moving forward.”
(On what Little finishing out the season could mean for his future in Jacksonville) “Well, I
mean, there’s a lot of season left, but I think it’s a great opportunity for him to embrace. I
think it’d be a great question to ask him and see how he feels. But for me, it’d be just a great
opportunity and see where it goes from there.”
(On what position best suits Little) “I think he’s a tackle. I think he’s a tackle. I mean, I think
he’s a tackle. Let’s just say that.”
(On what makes him better suited to play tackle as opposed to guard) “One, I think he’s
more comfortable out there. I think that the space element of playing tackle is one thing.
Guards, you don’t have to necessarily move as far. There’s a lot more bodies around you.
And two, honestly, his size. His size is good for guard, but I think it better suits him
personally as a tackle.”
(On injury updates) “Darby [CB Ronald Darby] is good. Darby will be out there. BT [WR Brian
Thomas Jr.], we’ve just got to wait and see. It’s going to be day-to-day. Gabe [WR Gabe
Davis] is going to be day-to-day.”
(On injury updates for OL Brandon Scherff) “Day-to-day.”
(On injury updates for OL Ezra Cleveland) “Ezra, day-to-day, but ankle. We’ll see how he is
at the end of the week.”
(On injury updates for RB Travis Etienne Jr.) “Yeah, should get him back. I’m looking forward
to getting him out there and getting some reps. See how he feels.”
(On how he gets the second-string players game ready) “Next man up. I mean, honestly, it’s
easy as that. I mean, the games are still going to come. League’s still going to continue on,
and we’re going to continue on. We’ve got to coach. It’s why we develop guys in the
offseason for opportunities like this, right? So, whether it’s a young player, a rookie, or a vet,
or a practice squad elevation. We’re going to continue to coach everybody and get them
prepared for each week.”
(On if WR Parker Washington’s speed in training camp translates to the regular season) “It
does. Yeah.”
(On what he saw from CB De’Antre Prince in the game coming in for Darby) “I thought he
moved well. He did some good things. I know the one deep pass, I mean, that was just a
great throw, great catch. I mean, he was in the right position. You’d love to see him make
that play, but that was just a great play by them. He continues to grow and develop and it’s
good that he’s getting some time out there and getting some meaningful snaps. It just
continues to develop his growth as a player.”
(On the cornerback rotation if Darby is unavailable for the game) “Yeah, I don’t want to
move too many people. I think Jarrian [CB Jarrian Jones] is good at nickel. I think that’s a
good spot for him, but can he go outside? Sure. He can definitely do that. But having Tre
and what he’s done, Buster [CB Montaric Brown] had to kind of go over and play the other
spot, the left corner position last week, a little bit unique. So, if we had to, we could do that.
Love to keep Jarrian at one spot though moving forward.”
(On helping Eagles Head Coach Nick Sirianni transition to the Eagles’ head coaching
position) “I went over the media with him (laughs). I mean, look, it’s a tough business and I
can appreciate a new head coach going in there and what to expect. Just to be a resource
to be somebody there that’s been it. I did it for five years and I was an assistant coach there
for a long time and really just to, if you had any questions, to just ask me. It’s just a respect
thing. It’s hard enough to be a head coach in this league and any advice I could give a new
time or a first-time head coach, I was going to do it.”
(On how he thinks Sirianni has handled the Eagles head coaching position and any advice
to him) “I mean, I think from the outside looking in, I think he’s handled it well. My advice is
just you’ve just got to keep going every single day, man. You just got to keep your head
down, plowing forward, just do your job. Get your team ready to go for another game. You
can’t control anything other than that as a head coach. So that’s my advice to myself and
that’s my advice to him is just continue to keep doing the job you’re doing. You’ve got to be
convicted, right? You’ve got to trust your ability. You’ve got to trust what you’re doing, what
you’re teaching, how you’re how you’re preparing your football team, and you’ve got to stick
to that. I think he’s done a good job with that.”
(On if he’s looking forward to returning to Philadelphia and why) “I do. Fans are great.
Obviously, we won a championship there and we’ve still got a lot of close friends, family
friends. That place is always going to be one of the spots for me that I enjoy going back to.”
(On if he’s visited the statue of himself outside of Lincoln Financial Field and if he plans to)
“No.”
(On why he hasn’t visited the statue) “Because it’s on the other side of the stadium. You
want me to tailgate too and say hi to people (laughs)? No, I actually, have not even seen the
statue in person.”
(On if anyone in his family has seen the statue) “Yeah, actually my brother who passed
away a couple years ago, he actually, when he was up there, both of my brothers actually
have been there and taken pictures, yeah.”
(On if it becomes easier to trade or cut players in the middle of the season) “It’s never easy.
I’ve been one of those guys, so I know it’s never easy. Now you’re on this side of it and it’s
tough. The biggest thing for me too, I think, is just how much you appreciate what the
players have put in, the hard work and whether they were drafted here or not. I mean, it’s
just never easy.”
(On why OL Cam Robinson did not play vs. Green Bay) “Well, if you remember, he was in
the protocol all week and then Walker took all the plays, all the snaps during the week and
so we felt best for the five offensive linemen and really the eight who were going to dress for
that game, once Cam got cleared, that he would go in as the backup tackle.”
(On if that was also why Robinson did not participate on special teams) “Yeah, yeah, it was
all part of the plan.”
(On how hard it is to manage the locker room when making a midseason move) “Sure. Well,
this time of year guys get nervous. The trade deadline’s next Tuesday, right? And we’ve
already seen it around the league, some top guys. I mean, look at [New York Jets WR]
Davante Adams and [Buffalo Bills WR] Amari Cooper and D-Hop [Kansas City Chiefs WR
DeAndre Hopkins], guys like that. I mean, the way the league is, the way our business is
and teams are always making those types of decisions. So, I do feel an obligation to kind of
ease the mind of the players and just say, guys, let’s just continue to work and build. Only
control what you can control, and that’s your job. Don’t worry about the other.”
(On what stands out to him about Eagles Defensive Coordinator Vic Fangio’s defense) “I’ve
gone against Vic now for a while, whether he was in Miami, Chicago, Denver, places like
that. I mean, it’s a multiple-front. They’re going to give you four D-linemen, three D-tackles
at times. They’ll give you base, nickel, there’s multiple, right? And then the back end, it’s a
discipline group. It’s a physical group. It’s a scheme that they don’t necessarily do a ton or a
lot, but they play it well. I think what you’re seeing with Philly right now is they’re catching
their stride a little bit and they’re playing well together. We’ll see where Darius [Eagles CB
Darius Slay] is obviously as the week goes, but they’re gaining more confidence each week.
That’s obviously a credit to what Coach Fangio has done up there.”
(On if OL Javon Foster or OL Cole Van Lanen will be the swing tackle moving forward) “Well,
Cole Van Lanen right now. We’ll continue to work with Javon.”
(On what he’s seen from Eagles QB Jalen Hurts) “I think the challenge obviously is his
ability to create plays. The ones that aren’t there, he makes them. He’s really good outside
the pocket. He’s tough to bring down. He’s strong, powerful and he’s improved so much in
the passing game, too. Obviously, he’s got some weapons around him. It’s just, again,
another player that is playing with confidence. Again, they’re kind of catching their stride
from early in the season when they had a couple losses there. But he makes it go
offensively. The challenge is to contain him if you can. It’s a big zone run scheme with the
RPO stuff and the ability to run the quarterback. So, just got to stay disciplined and trust
your eyes.”
(On what RB Keilan Robinson can bring to the team) “I mean, we’ll see, right? We’ll see.
Excited to get him back out there because it’s been, gosh, I think all the way back to the
rookie training camp way back in July. So, it’ll be good to get him back out there and with his
teammates and really just see kind of what he remembers of the playbook and how he can
help us, whether it’s on offense or special teams.”
(On if Washington will still be the primary returner on both punts and kickoffs or if WR Velus
Jones Jr. can be added to the mix) “No, right now I think Parker can do both. I think he’s very
capable of doing both. I think Velus, we’re excited to get him and get him back out there, get
him out there with our guys. We’ve got to get him caught up and see where that one goes.”
(On if they are planning to leave for Philadelphia on Friday or Saturday) “Saturday morning.
Yeah, we’ll do Saturday morning.”
(On whom would be the next man up at the wide receiver position beyond Washington)
“Yeah, I mean, obviously you have to go into your practice roster, so you’ve got [WR] Elijah
Cooks, [WR] Austin Trammell and [WR] Josh Cephus, so any one of those three. We’ll get
them all reps this week and we’ll make a decision based on how those other guys feel
Friday, Saturday.”
(On if the team signed OL Blake Hance to the active roster to prevent another team from
acquiring him from the practice squad) “Maybe… I mean, that kind of stuff happens, right?
You want to keep as many good players as you can. Can’t keep them all, but you want to
keep the ones that can help you moving forward, and we decided to move him up to the
53.”
JACKSONVILLE – The Jacksonville Jaguars have opened RB Keilan Robinson’s 21-day practice period, the team announced today.
Robinson was drafted by Jacksonville in the fifth round (167th overall) of the 2024 NFL Draft. He played at Alabama (2019) and Texas (2021-23) and totaled 121 rushes for 796 yards and eight touchdowns, along with 35 receptions for 332 yards and three touchdowns. Robinson also returned 39 kickoffs for 919 yards and one touchdown and one punt for a 19-yard touchdown. He finished his collegiate career eighth in Texas history in kick return average (24.2) and ninth in total kickoff return yards (897). The Washington, D.C., native was placed on the Reserve/Injured; Designated for Return List on August 27.

JACKSONVILLE – The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed RB Jake Funk to the practice squad, the team announced today.
Funk was drafted by the Los Angeles Rams in the seventh round (233rd overall) of the 2021 NFL Draft. After his rookie season with Rams, he also spent part of the 2022 season with the team. He later signed with New Orleans (2022), Indianapolis (2022), Miami (2023) and Baltimore’s (2023) practice squads. In January 2024, Funk signed with Detroit and was waived in August. Funk was elevated in Week 7 vs. New England and Week 8 vs. Green Bay after originally signing with the Jaguars’ practice squad on October 1.
Prior to the NFL, the Gaithersburg, Md., native played at Maryland from 2016-20, redshirting in 2018 due to injury. He finished his senior season (2020) ranking first in the Big Ten and second nationally in yards per carry (8.6), and third all-time in single-season yards per carry in program history.
