Italy’s Beretta and Ferrari Take Pole for Today’s Marquee Race at Sebring

SEBRING, Fla. (Sept. 24, 2022) – Italy’s Michele Beretta won the pole for Race No. 1 of the Fanatec GT World Challenge America at Sebring International Raceway. Beretta’s lap of 2:00.298 in the No. 1 K-PAX Racing Lamborghini Huracan was best among 15 drivers who took time. He will lead the field in the 90-minute sprint race starting at 2:15 p.m. today and will be joined by co-driver Andrea Caldarelli of Italy in the Lamborghini.
Shortly after Beretta’s lap, another Italian, Manny Franco, driving the No. 34 Ferrari 488, broke the SRO GT World Challenge track record with a lap of 1:58.929 to earn pole for tomorrow’s Race No. 2 in the Fanatec GT World Challenge America, going green at 1:15 p.m. Co-driving with Beretta is American Manny Franco. Franco qualified the No. 34 Ferrari fourth for today’s Race No. 1.
