Inter Miami CF to Play Preseason Match Against FC Dallas at Cotton Bowl Stadium on Jan. 22 Club announces final friendly of historic six-match international preseason tour ahead of highly-anticipated fifth MLS season |
MIAMI (January 5, 2024) – Inter Miami CF announced the final friendly of its historic 2024 preseason schedule, with the Club set to play in the Cotton Bowl Stadium in Dallas’ Fair Park, Texas against MLS foe FC Dallas on Monday, Jan. 22 at 6 p.m. ET. The announcement wraps up a never-seen-before tour for an MLS team, as the exciting six-week preseason will feature Inter Miami matches in El Salvador, Texas, Saudi Arabia, Hong Kong and Tokyo before concluding with a game at DRV PNK Stadium ahead of the team’s thrilling fifth season. “We are pleased to be able to play in a historic venue like the Cotton Bowl as part of our 2024 preseason preparations,” said Chief Soccer Officer and Sporting Director Chris Henderson. “This match against FC Dallas will provide us with a great test against MLS opposition ahead of our fifth season for Inter Miami. The preseason friendly will see Inter Miami visit a historic sporting venue in the 92,000-capacity Cotton Bowl Stadium, which was opened in 1930 on the site of the State Fair of Texas. Since then the stadium has been the home to many sporting organizations, including former MLS side Dallas Burn from 1994 through the 2002 MLS season and again in 2004 and for a portion of the 2005 season, and has housed numerous major sporting events, notably being one of the nine venues for the 1994 FIFA World Cup. The Club previously announced a match against the El Salvador national team on Jan. 19, as well an international tour with two matches in the Riyadh Season Cup in Saudi Arabia – on Jan. 29 against Al-Hilal and Feb. 1 against Al Nassr – a match in Hong Kong against the Hong Kong Team on Feb 4, a match in Tokyo against J1 League champions Vissel Kobe on Feb. 7, and a preseason match at DRV PNK Stadium against Argentine outfit Newell’s Old Boys on Feb. 15.
